Church Multiplication
Your continual prayers and resources are needed to continue to expand this vital ministry in the Northeastern District.

C&MA Core Value
Achieving God's purposes involves taking faith-filled risks. This always involves change.
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6 |
A letter was sent out on March 10, 2009 to the CMTeam requesting them to join me in praying that the Lord would return church planting in the District to the "front/center burner." The majoity of our time in the subsequent meeting was spent in crying out to the Lord, challenging each other and discussing what "Out of the Box Church Planting" could look like, and the need for "team plants." The fast paced events in the weeks and months that followed indicated that the Lord was definately leading and guiding with some very unique opportunities.
A. North Syracuse Region - Cicero
Folloiwng a season of prayer and seeking the Lord, having significant conversations, being put through a smatteirng of assessments, Brendon and Amy Cochran sensed the Lord releasing them from a fruitful ministry in Frewsburg and calling their family to "join Him" as church planters in new territory--North Syracuse (Cicero/Clay). This region with a population of approximately 85,000 people had been catching the attention of the CMTeam for years but the "not yet halt" was obviously God's timing and finding the right church planters. God has been at work in a number of people's lives and He is faithfully orchestrating divine appointments with "people of peace" for the Cochranand Phillips families.
B. Buffalo
The Tharp family (Patrick, Rebecca and Rachael) and the Mousa family (Mohannad, Enas, Rose, Rowan and Rachel) are diligently working to establish a new preaching point across from the Buffalo University, "Grace Point Alliance." The District was able to purchase a ministry center to more effectively reach people for Christ via meeting felt needs. The experts claim that America has become the third largest mission field. Since March 2009 God has opened unique opportunities to join Him in reaching lost people for indeed, He wants them found! Assisting with "hands on ministry" Mohannad and Enas have been helping refugees from Iraq settle into the Buffalo area by providing counseling, clothing, transportation from the airport and helping them fill out necessary documents.
C. Intercultural Ministry in Albion
Another ministry the Church Health and Multiplication Team has encouraged and supported in 2009/2010 are David and Donnie Stockwell (former International Workers with the C&MA to the Phillipines) who have been working with Gregg and Nancy Marston at Faith Alliance Church to develop intercultural ministries in the rural farming community of Albion, NY. While this ministry began predominately with Filipino/American cultures, it is growing to include other cultures as well...an amazing story of God's grace and love for all people groups!
D. The Village Chapel Candor Church planters: Ken and Louise Lindsey
Despite the odds, The Village Chapel has seen: a number of people pray to receive Christ, physical and emotional healings, a significant number attending Wednesday prayer meetings, outreach events, deliverance ministries and a dynamic youth ministry. Trusting the Lord to supply all their needs the church leadership continues to seek creative ways to reach out into the community and build the body up.
E. Church Multiplication Support Ministries
As a means of prayer support and encouragement, the District Church Planting Kids, CPK's, have been "adopted" by several Alliance District churches. It has been a tremendous encouragment to these church planting families to know people are praying for their specific needs and remembering their birthdays and some of the holidays. Many more CPKs will need to be adopted as our "Team Plants" develop. Thank you in advance for considering this tangible way to partner and encourage the church planting families God is calling to the Northeastern District.
F. Funding the Church Multiplication Vision
I am grateful for your faithful support of the District Operation Budget - DOB. Without your church faithfully meeting that commitment, none of the above would likely take place. God is delighted to see the establishment of healthy Great Commandment/Great Commission churches. The CMTeam has prayed and identified additional locations to plant churches in the Northeastern District but continual funding of the vision is needed.
I would encourage you to prayerfully consider some of the following options:
-
Some churches, in addition to their DOB, have given extra funds specifically for Church Multiplication. This can be handled through the monthly church contribution form.
-
Contributing to the new "T.E.A.M. CALLS" (Together Empowering Alliance Ministries) for specific projects. Grace Point Alliance in Buffalo is excited to have this season of opportunity to reach out to displace Iraqis and other people in the Buffalo area through their ministry center. Part of the mission field is at our Buffalo doorsteps! As this ministry center is near completion, a number of ministries are being planned to reach this area for Christ. T.E.A.M. Call funds will be needed.
-
Prayerfully consider giving a current gift or leaving a personal legacy for the Northeastern District Church Multiplication Projects. Ken Furl, Director of Gift Planning of The Christian and Missionary Alliance is the Northeastern Gift Planning Representative. Ken is available to answer your questions and point you toward the necessary steps to invest in future Church Multiplication ministries. You may contact Ken at: Furlk@cmalliance.org or phone: 330-638-1622

C&MA Core Value
Everything we have belongs to God. We are only stewards.
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
